Course Schedule at Hayashida and Associates:

Upcoming Courses:

December 9-11, 2011 -

Neurac Redcord - Level 1

Instructor: Allyson Cabot MPT

This three day course will build a knowledge base for Neurac suspension therapy including treatment exercises and techniques that lead to more functional movements and less pain. Participants will increase their skills using Redcord tools as a compliment to conventional therapy techniques, and a standalone therapy alternative for pain reduction and improved function.  Neurac 1 will help bridge the gap between performance oriented training and rehabilitation from injury, focusing on a holistic approach.    The course is primarily practical training, but will also include recent research on sling therapy and neuromuscular function as well as theoretical explanations on how sling therapy influences biological tissue.

Past Courses:

June 18, 2011–

Neck and Low Back Pain: Classification and Selected Interventions

Instructor: Joe Godges PT, DPT, OCS

One day course consisting of lecture for better understanding of the role of the International Classification of Functioning as it relates to the physical therapy profession. Hands-on Laboratory will help the participants demonstrate and practice selected physical examination procedures that complement an impairment-based classification of patients with neck and low back pain.

June 15, 2011 -

Neurac Redcord - Level 2 (Back and Pelvis)

Instructor: Oyvind Pedersen, Physiotherapist

This one day course will advance the knowledge base taught in Neurac 1 including advanced treatment exercises and techniques that lead to more functional movements and less pain. Participants will increase their skills using Redcord tools as a compliment to conventional therapy techniques, and a standalone therapy alternative for pain reduction and improved function.  Neurac 2 will help bridge the gap between performance oriented training and rehabilitation from injury, focusing on a holistic approach.    The course is primarily practical training, but will also include recent research on sling therapy and neuromuscular function as well as theoretical explanations on how sling therapy influences biological tissue.

October 23, 2010 –

Introduction to Movement Science

Instructor: Tracey Wagner MPT, OCS, FAAOMPTA

One day introductory course is designed to enhance the clinician’s clinical reasoning regarding muscle function by gathering data visually from posture and movement exams. Participants will evaluate upper and lower quarter posture and movement patterns, make predictions about impairments suspected, and then test to confirm the impairments. The treatment techniques will focus on specific muscles with post isometric relaxation and tactile muscle reeducation as well as groups of muscles with movement science therapeutic exercises. The content of this course consists of principles from movement science as well as neuromuscular reeducation.

July 31, 2010 –

Neck and Low Back Pain: Classification and Selected Interventions

Instructor: Joe Godges PT, DPT, OCSA

One day course consisting of lecture for better understanding of the role of the International Classification of Functioning as it relates to the physical therapy profession. Hands-on Laboratory will help the participants demonstrate and practice selected physical examination procedures that complement an impairment-based classification of patients with neck and low back pain.

February 27-28, 2010 –

North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy’s (NAIOMT) Missing LinkInstructors: Mark Looper PT, MS, COMT, FAAOMPT & Ken Cole PT,BSc, COMT, FAAOMPT

This course will teach identification of a painful or non-painful facilitated segment via a systematic test and retest confirmation combined with scanning examination techniques to reveal how the facilitated segment can complicate the orthopaedic condition.   Victim and culprit concepts of Pettman will be analyzed and related to dysfunctional movement patterns involving the facilitated segment. Specific tests will be taught to identify the potential spondylogenic cause of weakness, which sets up the extremity for dysfunction.

October 10, 2009 –

Evidence in Motion’s (EIM) Evidence-based Examination and Selected Interventions for Patients with Cervical Spine Disorders
